The Medupi Power Station Site Manager/ Limpopo Manager, starting his NDT career with Raysonics in August 2002, as a Junior Technician.
He worked mostly on the Eskom Power generation projects, working and upskilling himself to become the Site Manager for DEKRA on one of South Africa’s biggest constriction sites in the past 30 years, namely the construction of Medupi power station Limpopo.
He is now a multiple-qualified Senior Technician in the NDT field, with all the essential construction-related qualifications needed to manage projects of this magnitude.
Johann has very clear goals, including: Improving his networking skills for better communication and knowledge of his areas of expertise; broadening his career from being the Manager on Medupi, to expanding into all the neighbourhood countries, while growing DEKRA’s customer base and winning a career-related award, recognising his achievements.
Johann’s goal is for DEKRA to become the leading NDT supplier in the region while uplifting and upskilling other leaders to reach their full potential and being more proactive in building DEKRA’s future and growth. He sees himself becoming a mentor for all future leaders in the field.
While he is working on earning a degree in business development, he is also focusing on closing a lot more sales on a monthly basis and, optimistically, “landing a huge long-term contract” for DEKRA.
