Starting off as one of the Raysonics team in August 2006 as a wall thickness Assistant, completing his wall thickness training in February 2007.
In March 2008 he was appointed as Site Supervisor for Raysonics going over to DEKRA Industrial in 2013. In 2017 Dewald was appointed as the 16.2 appointee for DEKRA on NATREF.
There is little Dewald hasn’t done within using Plant Condition Management Software (PMCS), including running reports to determine the scope of work that needs to be done for a shutdown; helping the inspectors with PCMS problems; loading of notifications onto SAP as well as focusing on SHERQ and HSE issues.
He is responsible for generating a monthly HSE report that must be submitted to NATREF SHERQ department and training new people on all relevant NATREF procedures so that they know what to do, right down to organising emergency evacuation and incident investigation in the event of such an instance.
If no NDT technician is available for PT, he assists as well as completing NDT reports of other technicians.
Presently, Dewald says that he has achieved all the goals he has set and looks forward to setting up new objectives.
