Carina’s journey with DEKRA Industrial began in 2014 at the DEKRA Industrial RSA Secunda Branch. In 2016, she transferred to DEKRA Industrial RSA’s Kusile Power Station project until 2018, following which she freelanced as an HSE practitioner for DEKRA Industrial. As of 2021, Carina re-joined DEKRA Industrial as HSE Corporate Manager.
Carina’s experience in health and safety began in 1996 at SG Louwrens College, where she completed a diploma in nursing. In 2003, she left the medical sector to pursue a career in health and safety on petrochemical plants and power stations. From 2010 - 2012, Carina expanded her experience into the training sector.
Throughout her career, Carina has completed various training courses in the safety field, including Legal Liability, HIRA, SHEMTRAC, SHEQ Internal Auditing, RCAT and SHE Supervisory.
Key achievements include receiving the 2017 NOSA Award for Manager of the year for the Northern region; as well as DEKRA Industrial achieving the significant milestone of 5 million serious injury-free man hours of operational safety in May 2021, and the 7th consecutive NOSCAR safety award in September 2021.
Carina has a passion for people, safety and the wellbeing of her company - and aims to be instrumental in continuously growing the business - and expanding her knowledge and experience in the HSE field.
